Endothermic Gas Synthesis Catalyst- sarv 250-1
SARV-250 is a highly stable catalyst based on nickel on calcium or magnesium aluminate support. SARV-250 catalyst can be used in a high space velocity natural gas at a lower temperature (about 950°C). The catalyst is available in 4-hole-4-flute cylinder shape to provide a higher geometric surface area and decreased pressure drop. The diameter of the shaped catalyst is in the range of 12–14 mm.
Process:
Used catalysts supported on special calcium aluminate is applied in an endothermic gas generator which converts the natural gas or higher hydrocarbons such as propane with air to produce CO and H₂ in a high temperature retort of endothermic gas generator. The reaction gas product is used for heat treatment of steel material for gas carburizing and hardening.
A complicated approach is applied to control the surface area and pore size distributions of support and nickel content and particle size in catalyst. These parameters affect the catalytic properties and deactivation of catalyst due to carbon deposition and sintering.
